Male Mental Decline With Age
Men have the bonus of superior skin aging, but the
balance tips with mental decline, according to the results
of a worldwide survey.
Certain differences are inherent in male and female
brains.
- Men are better at maintaining and manipulating
mental images (mathematical reasoning and spatial
skills)
- Women are better at memory recall (language skills,
locating objects).
Previous studies were mixed in results, but a new
study in 2005, using data from the BBC Sex ID Internet
Survey or more than 250,000 respondents worldwide gave
more conclusive results.
Cognitive Skills – decline
with age in both genders, women showed significantly
less decline than men overall. Social involvement and
mental and physical exercise impact on cognitive
decline.
