Prostate Health
In spite of awareness of prostate cancer, many men
still do not have regular prostate checks.
The prostate is a walnut-sized gland that lies at the
base of the bladder. Its purpose is associated with
male function and seminal fluid secretion that combines
with sperm during ejaculation, acting as a lubricant
to prevent infection in the urethra and protecting and
energising the sperm.
Hormonal imbalances common in andropause, cause an
enlargement of the prostate, accounting for many of
the urinary symptoms men suffer with as they age. This
condition is known as Benign Prostate Hyerplasia [BPH].
