Wellness for Women
Menopause is not an easy passage for many women. With
symptoms ranging from mood swings, hot flushes, sore
breasts, higher cholesterol levels and aching joints,
the medical world has yet to come up with a fully acceptable
response to helping women with this natural event.
Fortunately, there are some natural ingredients that
have proven helpful to many women, without side effects
common to drug ‘remedies’. Side effects
to estrogen may include breast tenderness, nausea, headaches,
leg cramps, irregular bleeding, weight gain and bloating.
Pycogenol is one such ingredient.
A new study has shown that Pycnogenol, a maritime
pine bark extract is helpful for managing menopause
symptoms, and is being promoted in place of oestrogen
hormone replacement therapy.
Just 200mg of Pycogenol can dramatically reduce symptoms.
Rapid improvement was reported after the one-month mark.
After six months LDL cholesterol levels were seen to
have reduced by 10 per cent in the women taking the
Pycnogenol, compared to those on the placebo. The Pycnogenol
women's antioxidant levels also increased.
Pycnogenol has also shown positive benefits in other
areas, including skin elasticity, free radical scavenging,
antioxidant activity, cognitive function and skin elasticity.
The anti-inflammatory property of Pycnogenol has shown
benefits in other medical conditions such as endometriosis
and menstrual pain.
You can find Pycogenol in our Antiaging Online Store.
