Nourishing Oil Carrying Agents


Many oils both moisturise and nourish the skin, and also act as carrying agents for other ingredients.

Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii) - often found as a minor ingredient in high quality moisturizers.

GrapeSeed Oil - a natural light oil, similar to almond oil, can be used on all skin types and does not aggravate acne. The antioxidant power of Grape Seed helps protect muscle cells from damage associated with fibromyalgia. It is also used as an ingredient in facial creams to help maintain skin elasticity.

Avocado Oil - the flesh of the avocado contains nearly 50% plant oil. It is a good source of vitamin E, magnesium and linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid, which helps to strengthen the membranes surrounding skin cells.

Aloe Vera Juice – from the gel containing leaves of a cactus-like plant has been used for centuries to treat a variety of skin ailments, including sunburn, blisters and burns.

Jojoba Oil -(Simmondsia chinensis) - consists of pure esters similar to the natural restorative esters produced by the sebaceous glands in the dermal layers in the human skin.

Carrot Seed Oil - mainly obtained from wild carrots, usually found in Europe. It contains carotene, Vitamin A, very good for healthy skin and hair.

Palmarosa Oil - moisturizes the skin, helps to stimulate cell regeneration and is valuable to use for acne, dermatitis, and minor skin infections, scarring, sore feet and athlete's foot.

Bergamot Oil - extracted from the bergamot fruits, which resemble small oranges. Well-diluted in a facial cream Bergamot's anti-septic and anti-fungal properties can be helpful for acne, and problem skin conditions.

Wheat Germ Oil - its high levels of vitamin E act as a powerful skin anti-oxidant and natural preservative.

Chamomile Oil - containes azulenes which have superb skin-soothing and anti-inflammatory properties.

Vitamin-E Oil - a key anti-oxidant vitamin that helps protect the skin against free radical damage caused by pollution, cigarette smoke and the sun's radiation. It has a healing effect on the skin and helps prevent scar damage.
